Our school zone is available on which hosts the most up-to-date information on school zones in Victoria.

Students residing within our school zone are guaranteed a place at our school, which is determined based on your permanent residential address.

Our school manages enrolments using the Placement Policy to ensure that students have access to their designated neighbourhood school and may enrol at another school, if there are available places.

2025 Foundation (Prep) enrolments – NEW Online System

This year our school is using an online system for new enrolments to Victorian government schools called VicStudents.
VicStudents is available for students who are enrolling in a Victorian Government School for the first time. This includes Foundation (Prep) enrolments for 2025. 

VicStudents has been assessed by the Department of Education to a high degree of security in line with the Victorian Protective Data Security Standards and is compliant with ISO 27001, the leading international standard for information security.

Visit to create an account and complete the online application form. Please ensure that all documents required are attached to the application. 

Foundation (Prep) enrolments

The Department of Education has a statewide Foundation (Prep) enrolment timeline.

The timeline advises families when and how to enrol their child into Foundation (Prep) at a Victorian government primary school, including Ruskin Park Primary School.

You will be able to apply to enrol your child in Foundation (Prep) 2025 at Ruskin Park Primary School from 15 April 2024.

What you need to do:

  1. Contact our school to book a school tour or to learn more about our school and the enrolment application process.
  2. Download the Foundation (Prep) enrolment information pack from Enrolling in Foundation (Prep). This pack includes an application form, which you can also request from our school.
  3. Submit an enrolment application for Foundation (Prep) by Friday 26 July 2024.
  4. You will be notified of the outcome of your application between Monday 29 July and Friday 9 August 2024. If you receive an enrolment offer, you should contact our school to accept the offer by Friday 23 August 2024.
  5. Take part in enrolment information and transition sessions during Term 4, 2024.
  6. Prepare your child to start Foundation (Prep) from Wednesday 29 January 2025.

Enrolment applications submitted after 26 July 2024 will be processed by our school as they are received, in accordance with the department’s Placement Policy.


Transitioning into the Foundation Level


2024 Transition Dates for 2025 Enrolment

Meet and Greet Session – Monday 14th October 2024
4:30pm – 5:30pm – Children will have the opportunity to explore activities in the Foundation classrooms and meet our Foundation Teachers.

Story Time and Music Transition Session– Friday 25th October 2024
9:15am – 10:30am – Music and literacy based activities will be held in the Foundation classrooms.

Japanese & Physical Education Transition Session – Thursday 7th November 2024
9:15am – 10:30am – Our Japanese & PE specialist teachers will conduct some introductory activities along with the Foundation teachers.

STEM & Art Transition Session – Wednesday 20th November 2024

9:15am – 10:30am – Our STEM & Art specialist teachers will conduct some introductory activities along with the Foundation teachers.

Number Fun Transition Session- Thursday 28th December 2024

9:15am – 10:30am – Numeracy based activities will be held in the Foundation classrooms.

Foundation Parent Information Night – Monday 9th December 2024
7:00pm – 8:00pm – The 2025 classes and teachers will be announced.

Foundation Orientation Morning – Tuesday 10th December 2024
9:15am to 10:30am – Children will have an opportunity to meet their teacher and classmates for 2025.

School Tours

We are very proud of the teaching and learning programs, teaching staff and facilities that we offer at Ruskin Park Primary School. If you are considering a primary school for your child, we invite you to visit our school with your child to see what we can offer.

School tours are conducted by our Principal, Andrew Moore on Wednesday mornings at 9.30am from April onwards. Other mutually agreed upon times for tours can be arranged by calling the school office on 9723-3886.
